For 2007, and 2008 there will be at least two operational
releases of ECHO: Version 9.0 and Version 10.0. The
planning behind the release is outlined in the
ECHO Development Process
with a focus on five main categories of functionality:
- New features, especially Web services
- Software implementation of outstanding ECHO data
model requirements, based on the ECHO data model review
held in 2002
- Features and system modifications to support operations
needs and streamline the operations function
- Refactoring selected components of the ECHO system
to improve performance and maintainability
- Bug fixes, prioritized by criticality
- Development complete: July 9, 2004
- External test and debug completed: mid September 2004
- End-to-end testing (with DAACs) completed: late September 2004
- Deploy to operations completed: early March 2007
